My evaluation of the course
The first day of class with Ms. Ross was kind of ok. But I took as it was a challenge. I knew that she was testing for the student who can hang and who could not make it to the end of the five week course. That is what I thought of my first week of college with Ms. Ross. After two weeks past by things seemed to get a little calmer, with the exception of some student did not make it through the first few weeks. But I knew she was just preparing me for the fall semester of college. I learned many things while in class, I know that I need to read more, and practice writing more. The teaching I received from Ms. Ross will help me in the long run in the future also as I move to composition two. Throughout my experience in the classroom was wonderful.

Thank you letter to all tried to prevent me from becoming who I am now
Dear, People who tried to prevent me from my success
I just want to thank all of you people that did not want to see me succeed. With all your encouragement made me a lot stronger. All you all were doing is pushing me to make me better. The more you pushed made me an achiever throughout my school years. I always maintain a high grade point average. When you tried to make fall with all your criticism, it did not bother me it made me continue to stand on my feet. Whatever you all tried to do never worked for you. I just keep praying and keeping a focused mind. Doing those things kept me moving to reach my journey. When graduation came up I march up to that podium a received my diploma with honors; as of today I still remain standing tall.
Sincerely,
Triandos Morris

Essays I have written for class
For this past week I woke up early in the morning everyday at five thirty a.m. I would do different running exercise and some time lift weights. Then I went to some meetings this week to hear a speaker from the ROTC major. He spoke to us about the upcoming ROTC program in the fall. He stated that he teaches military science and they can pay for four years in college. Also the CEO informed us that she has assigned us a yoga instructor. The yoga instructor had educated me on many new exercises and flexibility stretches and techniques that I never done before. On one morning I went to the chapel service; the preacher preached to me about sacrifice and what ten things are important to me.
After service was over I went to all my classes. When the classes were over I went and did my homework. The people that finished there homework early or late had to go lift weights. When weight lifting was over I went to dinner. Furthermore, I had my study time to look over work. Then after I did my little free time I took a shower, and went to bed. On Friday I had and early start this morning on account I woke up real early. I went to the gym and asked my mentor what we have to do; He told me that I was going to have to do a lot of running, so I was prepared to run. After our running was over, Tracy told me that we are going on a trip to prison around one in the evening. Later I went to go take a shower and went to breakfast. Then as the time passed to eight a.m. I went to class to start my day of learning.
Prison Reflection
My experience from visiting the prison at Perry County Correctional Center was very devastating. I was able to have a chance to see a prison environment and how they function. The people in prison are locked up among varieties of different sections. While I was there I saw some prisoners out in the prison yard. The yard subsisted of a track, basketball court, and tables. Some of the prisoners were talking through the fence, informing us that prison is not the place for us at all. One man was telling us that he has been in prison since 1981; he will not get out until the year 2020 if he makes it that long. He also tried to encourage us to mind our parents and stay in school and go to college. In the cafeteria the prisoners are measured in a timely fashion to consume there food. The prisoners are given a time limitation set by guards on how long they are given to feast. For a person like myself I know I will not get full at all with the amount of food they give the prisoners.
When the prisoners want to use they phone they can not go to the regular pay phone on there on. The security guards have to roll out a pay phone to the prisoner cell and connect the phone line into the wall. While they are on the phone they have no privacy, the guard is standing around them as they talk on the phone. In the cells the security guards keep the air temperature on negative zero air pressure. The reason why they do that is because it sucks up the toxic air out of there cells.

Claim: Why don’t women perform as well as men do?
Support: Women are not as skilled at sports as men are due to their lack of muscle strength. Atomists researched the stress and the differences between the male and female body. Women are about 10 minutes behind men. But men have improved yearly of 66 seconds, where for women have improved by a yearly 47 seconds.
Warrants: If women get enough time to practice they would probably be able to do as me.
Exigence: Women are just lagging behind they have not had as much practice or as much time to improve in areas as men have.
Summary:
Men are better than women in sports. Women verses men, is that women have a lot of catching up to do. The reason I am saying this is, that women do not have the potential strength as men do. Men have been working out since we have been created. Today it seems like women want to play football, wrestling, and hockey. My opinion is that it is good that women want to do these things, but they need to know the caution upon the activities; that us men play. Football is a very rough and physical sport to play; I think that woman would not be able to take the pain we can endure. Women bodies are fragile and soft, they could get hurt badly if they try to participate in those activities as men.

A major lesson that I learned thus far in life
A major lesson I learned in life is never give up. I know if I ever give up I will not make it in life at any cost. Life is a joyous privileged to have until you mess up. Through my life I have be through a lot of obstacles. I still remain on the top; I always strive for excellence to my advantage to succeed. Sometimes people do not want to do certain things, but that could be the pathway to your future. I know to never giving up I can be that cosmetic surgeon I always wanted to be. All I have to do is stay on top of my book and continuing to make excellent grades in college.

Student philosophy of life
The way I view life is that life is nothing to play with. Some people get sucked into life that they can not get back on there own feet. What I mean by saying that is because people get in to debt and struggle hard on paying there bills back. People everyday have to find jobs to be able to provide for there families. There are some individuals that do not have jobs. When they apply for jobs, sometime get declined for the job.
Sometime employees get laid off their jobs, because they job either no longer need there skill or do not have enough money to keep paying them their same salary rate. In those cases it can be several of reasons why they get laid off from there jobs. Today in our society we are going through a recession. Prices are going up and demand is going down, same as the employment rate.
In today’s society everyone must have a diploma and a college degree. Things as if you do not either have a diploma and a college degree you most likely would not make any money at all. Education is the key into making it in life. With you having an education there billions of jobs wanting you especially when being a black human being. Blacks have the hardest time receiving a job. They have to work thee hardest and prove themselves that they are intelligent people that can do the same as any man o woman.

Quotes: “YES WE CAN”
“If you think you can do it, you can”
I know that I will be a successful man such as the President Barack Hussein Obama, the 44th President of the United States. I know that much is given much is required. I have the determination and the drive to success in life. I am preparing myself for all that life has in store for me. I have a “yes we can” attitude towards life. My parents were once told that I could not learn. I am now a senior in High School on the Honor Roll and have been for several years now. My mom wants to show this teacher who remains nameless to me. Once and for all that I could learn. You know my mom she wants to do a Show and Tell for this teacher. To prove “Yes I Can” and, Yes I Did. Believing in President Obama Motto, “Yes We Can”, has helped me a lot these past months and has inspired me as well to achieve my goals and future.
Thus far in the 18th years on this earth I’ve gone through quite a few challenges to only be the age of eighteen that I am. Since I was six months old I lived with my mom and step dad. At the age of eleven and a half, I was pulled away from the place I had called home in Fayetteville, Georgia. To go and live with my father and step mother in Lithonia, Georgia. Unlikely to say that this transition did not go very well. They would once pick on me because of the way I was taught to speak which was use correct English, you know of my Mom’s she is know joke when it come to respect and education. They would also mention things that are smart remarks about the way I dressed and acted. I liked the way I looked and spoke for that matter. These were things that I was taught when I was growing up in the place I still call home to this day. I still hold these things to value to this day. Every adult I come in contact with are manner able remarks Ma’am and Sir. This is what I was thought and told to do and something I believe in. To be a respectful young man in today’s world. Now this day some of my friends joke with me because of it. I was taught as well, to ignore ignorance and therefore I believe I will respect my dad and step mom. But, I do not have to listen to the undetermined downing and unknowing.
I am convinced that however they do not understand, but I do. I will give them the authority of somewhat parenting skills that they have. But, I will not pay an attention of there negative ways, views, opinions and unknowing. I will as my mom says on so many occasions. Stay focus on the positive.” Free your mind and the rest will follow”. I know that I’m important to my dad, step dad, as well as my mom side of the family. I will make them all proud of me. I am determined and I have a “Yes we can” attitude.
What people can learn from my short story is that your past does not predict your future? There will be many turns and obstacle to appear. Some may be important and some not so important but use every event to a good. Therefore you will stay focus on your goal in life.
To quote John Burroughs, “If you think you can do it, you can”. I do believe I will, and so should the rest of you who believe in yourself. Determined is the word I use everyday to live and go by.

To quote John Burroughs, “If you think you can do it, you can”. I do believe I will, and so should the rest of you who believe in yourself. Determined is the word I use everyday to live and go by.

Thank you letter to all who helped me become who I am now
Dear, Family
Thank you for everything you have done for me. All your encouragements that you gave me led me to my success. You all continued to push me to make me as an individual work harder. You all know I went through a major issue in my life with people who did not care about my education as much. My family are the ones who told my to continue to keep my head up and never give up. But you thought me well to never let any say you can not do anything. I forever remember that I can be what ever I want to be if I put my mind to it. Now that I graduated from high school with a grade point average of 92 and also on the top ten percentile of my senior class. With the acceptation of my diploma with honors. I now attend college at Concordia College – Selma to receive a college degree.
Sincerely,
Triandos Morris

My name is Triandos “Tree” Delano Morris, of Atlanta, Georgia. I am currently residing form Atlanta, Georgia. I am a senior of the Class of 2009 at D.M. Therrell High School. Home of the Panthers!!!! I recently turned 18 years old in September of this year. Entering my senior year in high school has brought on a lot of changes and new adventures for me.
I have worked extremely hard and I am self motivated. I put large amounts of effort into any and everything I do. I am a member of the National Honor Society at D.M. Therrell High School. I rank number 15 in my Senior Class of 2009. I am a member of the Beta Club. I have had Perfect attendance in school, and I have earned Perfect Attendance Awards throughout school. My absences are very few through out my school years. As a member of the National Honor Society we volunteered to do community service. Our First project was for Hands on Atlanta. This is where we participated in Discovery Learning at Parklane Elementary School. We primarily tutored kids on reading and the upcoming elections for 2009. Two kids chose me to help with the project they were assigned. I enjoyed teaching and helping them in there areas of reading and learning.
This past summer I helped with the youth football team with plays in practice. I love football so this was more fun than work. The team and I had a great time while training. Did I also mention that I am one of the Captains of the D.M. Therrell High School Panthers Football Team? My jersey number was 55. I am a starting offensive lineman right guard and a defensive tackle. We had a winless season this year but our Coaches inspired us and said; that we showed a heart of champions and have broke the mold cast by Therrell’s past football team. “We showed great progress,” said Head Coach Tony Rambo. Around the end of the school year I was award “Best Offensive of Player of the Year.”
I recently joined the Kappa League, which is a part of the Project Grad Program in Atlanta. This is a group of young men at my school under the leadership of Mr. Woodard. It is a mentoring group to promote achievement in high school youth. Through this program, we gain knowledge and understanding of young black males in our community and around the country and how to become respected men.
